Judas Iscariot was a disciple of Christ in life. He betrayed the messiah to soldiers of the high priest Caiaphas for thirty pieces of silver. When the other eleven disciples discovered his treachery, they stoned him to death. Judas now resides in Hell, where he holds dominion over harpies. Because he is a lord of the icy wastes of Cocytus, he is called The Cold One or Judas the Frozen. He maintains that Jesus asked to be betrayed and decries his placement in Hell as unfair.
