Dagon

Dagon

"I dream of a day when they may rise above the billows to drag down in their reeking talons the remnants of puny, war-exhausted mankind—of a day when the land shall sink, and the dark ocean floor shall ascend amidst universal pandemonium." -H.P. Lovecraft, Dagon

Over the vast and sluggish Infernal sea, which burns with fire at its surface and freezes abominably at its ultimate depths, the demon cardinal Dagon rules, enthroned in primal darkness. Known to some prehistoric pagans as ti-lu ma-tim, "dew of the land," or as Be-ka-na-na, the lord of Canaan, Dagon was once a Deep Angel and the companion of Belial. He pledged himself to Lucifer early in the secession conflict and created the first pieces of anti-Throne propaganda. Now, a servant of the Black Hand, Dagon is a cardinal of the Luciferic church under Belial. His offspring fill the Hellish sea, icthyoid in appearance like their father. Their mother is the Outsider Belatu, who has now been wed to the Sea Lord for millennia. Dagon wields a trident. His symbols are the frigatebird, the nautilus shell, and the yellow lupin.
